TYPESETTING INFORMATION
When we receive your manuscript, we will only typeset what you send us. We will not do any arranging or changing of your composition, nor will we add anything to your manuscript unless you request our editing services. Think of it as a twist on WYSIWYG (What You Send Is What You Get).
In order to get the best results, consider the following when sending your manuscript:- Are all the parts, voicings, editorial marks and notation clearly indicated?
- Are the lyrics legible and lined up with the correct notes?
- Are the title, composer, lyricist, and copyright information written the way you want it?
- If you are unsure of how many of these elements should be placed on the page, there is a good chance that you may need our editorial services (Music Editing).
- We will determine the number of pages necessary for the finished product, stressing clarity and readability above all else.
- Unless we are instructed to the contrary, we will format the music to fit on 8-1/2" by 11" paper. The exception to this is choral music, which we will format to match the standard octavo size of 6-7/8" by 10-1/2". Again, it is up to you.
- Only send copies of your manuscript. DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS. Desktop Music Service will take no responsibility for original manuscripts lost in the mail.
- We do not do transcriptions from recordings.
